This intermediate/advanced course is geared towards experienced paddlers or those who have previously taken a rescue course with us or another company as self rescue in a requirement for this class. Our Learn to Roll course can be customized to cover basic to advanced rolls, depending on student requests. Please note that we only cover rolling in this course. Being able to do a wet exit and self rescue is a must before signing up for this class as you will need the full two hours to concentrate on learning the roll.
Participant/Instructor ratio is 4:1 with a max of 8 students with 2 instructors
What to bring: bathing suit and towel. Nose plugs, goggles or mask if wanted (it helps). All other equipment will be provided but you are encouraged to bring your own kayak and gear if you have it. There is no need to bring your receipt, but please do bring photo ID. Please let us know if you are bringing a kayak so we can give you direction.
Included in this course will be a FREE (retails for $26CAD) Digital Download of “This is the Roll” DVD. It contains step-by-step instruction on how to do 3 different rolls – the standard Greenland roll, the reverse sweep roll& the storm roll. These 3 rolls on both sides will allow paddlers to recover from a capsize in real conditions no matter how you are knocked over. “This is the Roll” was released in early April 2012. It’s had excellent reviews & been called “probably the best instructional DVD”! Here’s a link to watch a preview of “This is the Roll”watch
